Author

Today's topic:
Author

As an author, I've decided to go hybrid. The very first thing I indie published was "A Lady of Many Charms and Other Stories".  My regular readers have been hearing about this for about a week. Now it's your turn. If you want to know more, go back a few blog posts and you'll learn all you need to know to make you wanna download it.

As part of my indie author foray, I've made "A Lady of Many Charms and Other Stories" perma-free.

Smashwords | B&N | iTunes | Kobo | Inktera | (Amazon hasn't done price-matching yet, but they will catch up eventually.)

Yep, anyone who wants to download it and read it can. All I ask is that you leave an honest review somewhere.

Today's Question: Do you download and read free books? Why or why not?

Her Grace has found some pretty good stuff thanks to indie permafree novels. Is this one of Her Grace's blatant 'read my books' post? Yes it is.

Interesting book title.
I do download free books - it usually leads to discovering an author whose work I'll read again. (Though sometimes I wish I hadn't pressed download when it's obvious on page one that the book hadn't been edited or seen any proofreading...)

I'm not an E-book fan. Because I love the smell of books and love to have it in my mini-library at home. But i might be reading a few e-books.

An intriguing title. I wondered how big a following you had before deciding to publish short stories. I'd love to but feel I need a name for myself to get readers interested in anything other than a novel.

I do have ebooks for reference, but I do prefer holding a book, having it on the shelf, etc. Thanks for sharing your book, and good luck with the challenge!

I'm intrigued by the stories. I got a copy of the book and then the other one that sounded equally interesting to me (As Good As Gold). I look forward to reading them. :)

Greetings, Heidi, from a fellow swimmer in the Reef! I'm just catching up on my first-day visits on the Challenge. Personally, I love e-books. Otherwise, when we go on vacation, I need a suitcase just for books! I like being able to set bookmarks at key scenes and make the fonts bigger when my eyes are tired. All in all, they work for me.

I do download free books, do it a lot for new authors and then often happily buy more books if I like their style... I am however lazy, if it means signing up for lots of different sites, even if the book is free, I don't. Or I'd have to have been really motivated by reading something else of theirs to join yet another site.
